The Nelson County Clerk’s Office provides many services to the citizens of Nelson County. We are committed to serving the public in a businesslike, friendly, and efficient manner, all within the confines of Kentucky laws. Through this website we hope to improve our services and to better accommodate the public. We hope to address questions regarding services provided through our various departments, which include Motor Vehicle Titling/Registration, Deeds and Mortgages, Marriage Licensing, and Voter Registration/Elections.

Marriage

Marriage License

Marriage licenses are issued in the County Clerk’s office. The applicants must appear together. The license is valid for 30 days from the date of issuance and the license fee is non-refundable. The license must be used within the State of Kentucky.
